  - Maurits Cornelis, nicknamed "Mauk",[ 
  -he took carpentry and piano lessons until he was thirteen years old
  -He married Jetta Umiker in 1924
  - In 1922, he traveled through Italy (Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena) and Spain (Madrid,      Toledo, Canada)
   -He died at the home on 27 March 1972, at age 73.
4.  Most known for his woodcuts, lithographs and mezzotints.
