.'_'. Academic Goals .'_'.

My academic goals...
  • I want to work harder to graduate this year
I need to get as much credits as i can this next 10 weeks so i can be closer to graduation, I have to come to school EVERY DAY ON TIME! Turn in all my work and finish the book I have at home. I can do this I know I can!!!

  • I want to come to school every day on time
I want to really achieve this goal because my daughter just got back in the nursery and this time I don't want to lose her place in there, also I think that coming to school every day is going to help me achieve my first goal, so this way I will be able to get more work done and get more credits.

  • My social personal goal is to be more positive every day, have a positive attitude and just be nicer to people around me!
I'm tired of being mean to people jaja well people that don't deserve it the others umm it's whatever lol no but yeah I need to be more positive to have a higher self steam.

  • I think I have achieved some of the goals that I have set for myself...
For example I think I came to Lindsay with 9th grade credits and in a year I went to 11th grade credits so I achieved that and I am very proud of myself.

chicano moratorium

1) What further questions/comments do you have about this historical event?
I think that Ruben Salazar is kind of like my hero because he stood up for us chicanos and he died for what he believed in.

2) One African American veteran said of his experience in Vietnam, "Why should I come over here when some of the South Vietnamese live better than my own people back in the States". What do you think he meant by this?
I think he ment that, Why should he fight somebody that basically has the same enemy? why should he fight somebody that has never done anything to him when the real struggleis back at home?

3) What issues do you believe should be marched for today (perhaps similar issues that were marched for in 1970)?
I think racism should be marched, also discrimination, budget cuts for schools, and immiration status.

4) BONUS: For the girls who attended the forum, please reflect on your experience. What did you think of the speakers and/or film? What further questions do you have? What feelings did you leave with?
My expirience at the forum was something different, inspirational and motivational, the speakers were awesome dude! lol their words showed how strong their beliefs are and how they are luchando to make a change, one of my questions is, What would happen if all chicanos would get together and fight together? would we be able to make a change? and my feelings are stronger and also are my beliefs.

The children of the Holocaust

Children of the Holocaust

Questions for Maus I

1. Why do you think the author decided to depict the various characters as different animals (cats, pigs, mice) ?
I think that he chose the G.Jews to be mice and the G.Christians to be cats because the mice are scared of the cats and they run and hide from them.

2.. Many people have critiqued the author for depicting such a serious topic in a comic book format. What is your opinion on this and why do you think he decided to do this?

I think that he did this in order to catch peoples attention and to entertain the reader in such a sad matter.

3. In chapter four we see some Jews who have been hanged by the Germans. What other "noose" is tightening in this chapter?

4. "Prisoner on the Hell Planet" in chapter 5 uses people as characters rather than animals. Why does the author do this? Why is Art portrayed as a prisoner?

5. Art ends the book by calling his father a murderer. Why does he use such a strong word and what do you think he means by this?

Holocaust survivior

I enjoyed hearing Edith's survivior story, its incredible to know that someone survived this horrible event. I think i would've given up, but I admire her for such acomplishment, I also take her as an inspirational person because is exactly like she said... "If I could do it you girls can do it" that motivates me to do big things in life, to keep pushing forward, to not give up because I know I can do it.

May 1st. march at Down Town San Diego

At the march on May 1st. I personally really enjoyed it. I went with my baby's dad it was amazing how many people were there. While we were walking I saw some racist white guy hit  this other man in the head, and he took the flag he had and threw it to the floor, that made me really mad, its hard to believe how much hate a person can have over an issue like this. However i am really happy to know that theres people out there that are willing to protest and speak up to be heard and make a change in this country.... AND REMEMBER CHICANOS UNIDOS JAMAS SERAN VENCIDOS!!!!

Howard Zinn at City College

At first i tought that this event was going to be BORING but when I was in there listening to those people talk it was inspiring and I really like it. The guy i liked the most was the guy that raped, because is true what he said at the end, that hip-hop now a days is only about bitches, hoes and clothes but really is not about that is about expressing your feeling abut what goes around the world in a different way, kind of like tu-pac did in his lyrics. Life now a days is really different...

>.<.>.< Kite Runner >.<.>.<

1. Which characters change as the story proceeds? Do they change for the better or the worse, and how do they change specifically?
I think that Amir changed because when him and Hassan use to br little Amir was so messed up to him, but i feel like at the end he decided that Sorab was going to live with him because after all he did to Hassan tht was the least he could do in his loving memory.
2. Who was your favorite character and why? Which character did you dislike most throughout the story and why?
My favorite character was Hassan because sometimes in this F****D up world everyone needs a friend as loyal as him. The character that I disliked was Assef because is unbeliabale how mean and disgusting person he is, he is a nasty bastard.
5. Which is your most favorite scene in the book? In the movie?
My favorite part was at the begining when Amir cut the other boys kite and Amir told Hassan to run after it and Hassan told Amir.... "For you a thousand times over".

6. Which did you enjoy better, the novel or the movie? Please give specific reasons why.
Me personally i liked more the book because it has more details and as you are reading you can make your own little movie in your head.

Hi! My name is Adilene I am entering the "Bridge Contest" for looks. As I was building my bridge... it was kind of dificult because the stick were kind of hard to stick together, the reason why i built it that way is because i wanted to make it look like the San Francisco bridge lol but I wanted to make it look like i put alot of work on it... I am a confident person but I think that someone else might beat my brigde I mean Ithink its pretty sick but I kind of did it a lil sloppy, but it is what it is. Doing this was fun... and whatever happens happens so its alright.
